Wine Tasting
Wine tasting is a way to train the palate. The tongue and the mouth is trained to determine the experience. So how does one know what is a good wine? The answer: whatever it is you prefer.
Wine tasting is an experience best shared with friends and good company. But the sensual experience is confined only to that person tasting the wine. What is your preference? Do you prefer the fruity variety? The sweet wines? Those which offer an a rather complex earthy taste? The wine taster only intends to satisfy himself so a good tasting wine must be according to his taste.
The general rule is that each wine you pour, with the intent of wine tasting, is a good 2 ounces of wine per each tasting. This ensures just the right amount of wine to be able to determine the taste and quality of each wine.
Of course, to be able to better experience the wines, a good break in between each glass is important. Taking a few minutes off before going in to taste the next. It is also recommended to drink water or eat some plain bread in between to be able to cleanse the taster’s palate.
